Human Resources Strategies, Inc. is a Human Resources Consulting Firm dedicated to providing
high quality service without premium overhead charges.
Started in 1992 by Richard Lane, the
company was founded on the principle of high quality consulting at low overhead rates. Over
the years, Human Resources Strategies, Inc. has provided a variety of human resources services
to a number of different organizations, both large and small, profit and non-profit. During
this period we have completed numerous compensation studies for a variety of both exempt and
non-exempt positions. Mr. Lane has also performed a number of wage and salary projects
including designing and modifying performance appraisals, developing incentive plans, and
performing strategic planning studies.
Richard Lane - President
Prior to starting Human Resources Strategies, Inc., Mr. Lane spent five years
with Deloitte & Touche, as a compensation consultant in the Actuarial,
Benefits, and Compensation Consulting Group. During the last two
years at Deloitte & Touche, he was responsible for providing human
resources consulting services to Pacific Rim, primarily Japanese,
clients. Mr. Lane performed a number of wage and salary projects,
as well as management training, performance training, communication
training, and cultural diversity training for Japanese companies,
including trading companies.
Prior to Deloitte & Touche Mr. Lane was with Avery International (now
Avery Dennison), as Corporate Manager of Compensation and Benefits
Administration, located in the corporate office at Pasadena, California.
Before Avery, he spent two years with Solar Turbines in San Diego as a
compensation analyst. Mr. Lane began his career as a compensation
and general human resources consultant for Ernst and Whinney.
Mr. Lane has a B. S. in Politics / Law and an M. S. in International Relations, both from
the University of Southampton, in England. Mr. Lane is a member of the Society for Human
Resource Management (SHRM), World at Work and the Professional in Human Resources Association
(PIHRA).
